Artifacts

Traditional style works that represent the tools and crafts of many Native tribes. Common examples include works such as arrows, spears, breastplates, war clubs and other traditional artifacts. Also found in this area is a selection of head dresses including traditional war bonnets, handmade drums and dance sticks. Classic Indian dolls are also available in the artifacts area.

Hand crafted carvings of various materials, the fetishes were often used to honor the animals or figures they represent. Many times the fetish was believed to bring its owner prosperity in life. Although there are many tribes that create fetishes, the most popular and traditional are often crafted by members of the Zuni Nation in New Mexico.

Traditional and contemporary jewelry works are one of the most sought after types of Native American arts. Most often Native American jewelry comes from the Soutwest tribes of the Navajo, Zuni or Hopi, however we also feature works from tribes such as the Lakota and Ogalala of the Sioux Nation, members of the North West Coast, Cherokee and Choctaw Nations. Although sterling silver with stones like turquoise and coral are considered to be more traditional, Eagle Dancer Gallery carries a wide selection of 14 karat gold works with various stones including diamonds, emeralds, and other semi-precious and precious gems.

Traditional style Kat'sina, also known as Kachinas, are often believed to be the teachers or spirit guiders to Southwest tribes, particularly the Hopi Nation. Crafted of cottonwood, the Kat'sina comes in many forms that represent the many teachings of life.

Three dimensional works of art of various media including the bronze works of Star Liana York, Jeff Brock and Richard Greeves as well as wood carvings from the Seri Nation and artist such as Paul Hornbuckle.

Traditional and contemporary style weaving of the Navajo nation using 100% natural wool. Also in this section various items including traditional clothing such as war shirts, beaded clothing and other items.
